Fundraising Mailing

Situation:

The Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation was established in 1976 with the help of the community and corporate sponsors. Since then, fundraising initiatives have delivered over $40 million in support of the Hospital’s mission to provide compassionate quality health care.

Since 2003, the Foundation has partnered with Direct Access Marketing to achieve its annual $1,000,000 fundraising commitment. In the particularly challenging current financial environment, faced with a critical need for a new Patient Monitoring System, the Foundation’s goals remained steadfast. The creative solution highlight was an intensely engaging mailing that presented the critical need from the perspective of actual Hospital patients. The campaign optimized smart targeting – including variable donation options – and easy-to-use response tools.

Results:

The combination of a well-focused strategy and compelling communication delivered a response rate 4% higher than previous campaigns. Further, the average gift amount pledged was over 10% greater than previous campaigns.
